- 1 cup Green Split Peas
- 1 cup Chopped Onion
- 1 cup chopped celery, including some leaves
- 6 cups water or vegetable cooking water
- 2 teaspoons vegetable salt
- Dash of pepper
Put all ingredients into a two-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for about one and a half hours or until peas fall apart. Stir occasionally. Serve hot.
